The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation is handling the case of a deputy-involved fatal shooting in Monroe County.

The incident happened Sunday morning when authorities responded to a call about a man threatening a woman with a knife.  The deputy was placed on paid administrative leave while the state agency investigates.  A release from the D-C-I office says its final report will be forwarded to the Monroe County District Attorney's Office to determine if charges are appropriate.
