The Wisconsin Elections Commission says today's (Tuesday's) vote can't be re-scheduled, despite a winter storm which will bring ice, heavy rain and flooding to much of the state.
Local election officials are worried about getting polling places opened and keeping them staffed. The state Supreme Court race and many local elections are part of the spring primary. Polls must remain open until 8:00 P-M and they can't be closed due to foul weather. Local officials have contingency plans in place in case the power goes out, causing problems running the voting equipment and transmitting results to Madison.
