The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office will be holding our annual Law Enforcement Memorial
Ceremony on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the Jackson County Courthouse located at
307 Main Street, Black River Falls, Wisconsin.

The ceremony will be held around the front flag
pole and should last about 45 minutes. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office is inviting all local
law enforcement, fire departments, county employees and public citizens to join us in this
ceremony.
The week of May 13-19th has been dedicated as National Police Week to honor and remember
those law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice. Nationally in 2017, 129
officers were killed in the line of duty, and there have been 53 officer deaths already this year.
In 2017 two Wisconsin officers gave their lives in the ultimate sacrifice. On March 22, 2017
Detective Jason Weiland of the Everest Metropolitan Police Department lost his life while
investigating a domestic-related shooting. On April 11, 2017 Trooper Anthony Borostowski of
the Wisconsin State Patrol was killed in an automobile crash. We would like to pay tribute to all
officers nationwide who have given the ultimate sacrifice and also remember their families,
friends, and everyone they impacted on a daily basis.
Please join us to pay respect to the more than 900,000 law enforcement officers nationwide who
answer each and every call never knowing if it could be the last.
