One person is dead after the truck they were driving was involved in a crash on Twenty Six Road by Miller Avenue in the Township of Loyal.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call of the crash at about 3:28 pm, on Tuesday June 12th, 2018. Initial investigation indicates a pickup truck, being driven by Troy A. Zabel 35 yrs. old, was westbound on Twenty Six Road, east of Miller Ave, when he struck the rear of a silage wagon being pulled by a tractor that was also traveling east.

The operator of the tractor, Conner P. Fabian 18 yrs. old, was uninjured. Troy was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Schleifer. Speed and traveling too fast for conditions appear to be factors in the accident. Troy was not wearing a seatbelt.

The Loyal Area Fire Department and Ambulance Service responded to the scene with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and Coroner Schleifer. The investigation is continuing by the Clark County Sheriff’s and Coroner’s Office.

This is the 3rd traffic fatality in Clark County for 2018.
