Interstate-90, near Sparta, was shut down for nearly an hour early this morning when the driver of a stolen vehicle fired a single shot from it.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department, officers received information from Marquette County of a stolen vehicle believed to be in Monroe County. A deputy near Sparta located the vehicle on I-90 and was able to stop it with the assistance of OnStar and Sparta Police. Shortly after being stopped, the driver fired a single shot. A 45 minute standoff ended with an arrest. No one was injured. I-90 near mile marker 25 was shut down for about an hour Saturday morning.
