DHS Deputy Secretary to Join Local Lawmaker to Highlight the Importance of Services for People with Alzheimer’s Disease and Other Dementias

Wisconsin Department of Health Services Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk will join local lawmaker Rep. Jill Billings for a tour of The Memory Cafe, and will hold a media availability with reporters to discuss the importance of services for those living with Alzheimer’s or other related dementias.

There will be a video opportunity immediately following.

WHO: Wisconsin Department of Health Services Deputy Secretary Julie Willems Van Dijk

WHAT: Memory Cafes are safe, comfortable places for people with memory loss, Alzheimer's, or other related dementias to socialize as engaged community members. This visit will focus on how Wisconsin cares for those residents, since their number is expected to increase dramatically as the baby boom generation ages.
