The man charged in a hit-and-run crash that killed three Girl Scouts and a mother collecting trash in western Wisconsin has been bound over for trial.
A Chippewa County judge ruled this (Friday) afternoon that there is enough evidence to proceed with the case against 22-year-old Colten Treu. He appeared in the courtroom but did speak. Treu is accused of huffing before crashing his truck into the Girl Scout troop along a highway in Lake Hallie last November. He faces 11 counts including homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. The four victims killed are nine-year-old Jayna Kelly, ten-year-old Autumn Helgeson, ten-year-old Haylee Hickle, and 32-year-old Sara Jo Schneider.
