Man Charged With Beating Nurse Practitioner To Death Ruled Not Competent

After reading a psychiatric report on the defendant, a Milwaukee County Circuit judge has ruled the defendant in a murder case isn't competent to stand trial.

Kenneth Freeman is accused of beating 33-year-old nurse practitioner Carlie Beaudin to death. Investigators say Freeman followed her into the parking ramp at Milwaukee's Froedtert Hospital last January and attacked her. Tuesday's ruling means Freeman will stay at Mendota Mental Health Institute for additional treatment. A follow-up doctor's report will be submitted two months from now.
