Young ladies, from Jackson County, have until this Friday to enter as a contestant for the 2019-20 Miss Jackson County title. The Program’s Coordinator is Cassie Olson.

“Well the Miss Jackson County Program is a really unique opportunity for young women in Jackson County. First and foremost, it’s a scholarship program. A young lady running for Miss Jackson County could have the opportunity of receiving up to 1200 dollars in scholarships. They get a scholarship for being on the court, as well as they are eligible for the Miss Congeniality Scholarship and for the Kelsey Jo Olson Memorial Scholarship at the end of their year. Above and beyond the scholarship opportunities though, they have this unique chance to get out and really get to know their community, get involved, and volunteer. And gain valuable experience that will help them in their future endeavors and careers.”

Candidates must be 17 years-old by January first and a county resident.

“Each contestant must submit and application, which can be found in the Jackson County Fairbook. The judging process takes place at the end of the month on the 27th. They submit and autobiography and they also submit a tri-fold board. Both the autobiography and the tri-fold board are about themselves and their qualifications. And then they also have to give a three minute speech to a panel of three judges.”

For more information, contact Cassie at 715-896-4526 or search missjacksoncountycourt on Facebook. Coronation of the new Miss Jackson County and her court is Tuesday, July 30th at the Lunda Theater.
