Black River Memorial Hospital (BRMH) is teaming up with Bucklebear to help families keep their children safe.
Bucklebear and BRMH staff will have a car seat safety check-point during the Red Creek Elementary School open house on Tuesday, August 27, from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. This safety check can help parents and grandparents be certain their children and grandchildren are riding safely. The team will help set up the car seat, check the expiration dates, and suggest needed changes.
“School-age children often move from a car seat to a booster seat but some children may still be too small for the booster seat,” says Charlene Galston, BRMH Obstetrics Nurse. Galston also stated, “Front seat airbag deployment can injure a child. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children under twelve years of age ride in the back seat.”
Bucklebear reminds children to stay safe and buckle up every time. For more information regarding car seat safety, please call 715-284-1329.
