When things settled down, Columbia County sheriff's deputies say they figured out that a 45-year-old man just made up the story that he was being kidnapped.

Darrel Moll admits calling his wife and texting her, saying he was being held against his will. They had been arguing and he had hoped she would come looking for him. Moll was arrested after he admitted he zip-tied himself to the chair and made the calls and texts to get his wife's sympathy. He had hoped she would come -- instead, she called authorities.
