The Wisconsin men's basketball team is confident about the 2019-2020 season despite being picked to finish sixth in the Big Ten. Coach Greg Gard and players D'Mitrik Trice and Brevin Pritzl took part in Big Ten media day Wednesday in Illinois.
Trice told reporters, “I think with the guys we have, we have a chance to do something pretty special this year.” The Badgers will have to replace the production All-Big Ten center Ethan Happ. Pritzl said, "It doesn’t matter if you have a star player, it’s what those other guys can give you.” He thinks five players could average double figures. Coach Gard said he’s more concerned about how his team grows defensively than where U-W will replace Happ’s numbers on offense. The Badgers season opener is November 5th against St. Mary's in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
