Richland County Woman Can’t Have Any More Horses

Authorities in Richland County say a woman won’t face any additional charges, but she can’t own horses for at least two years.

Thurley Neumaier was already in trouble with the law for a previous case of animal neglect. She had entered a guilty plea in February to a charge of intentionally failing to feed her horses. She was sentenced to deferred prosecution and prohibited from owning more horses. Instead, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office found out that Neumaier was violating the agreement by keeping more than a dozen horses there. The D-A says this time the horses weren’t in bad enough shape to constitute a crime.
