Eau Claire Woman Admits Helping Juveniles Escape Custody

An Eau Claire woman has admitted helping juveniles escape from a residential treatment facility for troubled youth.

Ashlynn Alsteen entered a guilty plea during a Monday court appearance. A deferred prosecution agreement had been worked out. Investigators say juveniles at the Eau Claire Academy had told them Alsteen was planning to help them get away. She was reportedly going to harbor them for a night, then take two of them to Superior.
