Bill Bringing Relief To Wisconsin Farmers Would Cost $30M

A package of bills offering tax relief to Wisconsin farmers is being fast-tracked through the Legislature.

The Assembly Agriculture Committee gave the legislation unanimous approval Tuesday after a public hearing. It could be taken up as soon as next week by the full Assembly. Its future is less clear in the Senate and if-or-when it comes before Governor Tony Evers. The tax credit would be capped at 75-hundred dollars for farms producing at least 35-thousand dollars-a-year in cash farm income.
