The Wisconsin Department of Health is reporting the state’s second child death of this flu season.
No names have been released, but the latest victim is from southern Wisconsin. Doctors say flu activity is surging in this state right now. The U-S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are reporting 78 child deaths from flu nationwide. State officials say the flu has resulted in more than 500 hospitalizations this week – at least 100 Thursday morning alone. Despite the numbers, Wisconsin won’t reach peak flu activity for several weeks, then it will stay at that level for several more.
