Federal, state and local law enforcement officers rounded up 17 drug suspects during a sweep in a northeast Milwaukee neighborhood Tuesday.
The U-S Attorney’s Office says seven more suspects named in the arrest warrants are still at large. Military assault-style weapons were among 53 firearms seized. Officers also collected 900 grams of heroin and stashes of cocaine and marijuana – plus 300-thousand dollars in cash. Investigators say the gang they rounded up was calling itself the Buffum Meinecke Boys, a name connected to one of the streets in the neighborhood.
