Attorney General Josh Kaul says the Wisconsin Supreme Court avoided election chaos with its decision Monday.
The high court ruled against putting Green Party presidential candidate Howie Hawkins on the ballot. That clears the way for local election managers to mail the ballots out on time. Kaul issued a one-line statement after the ruling – "Election chaos averted." The state supreme court ruled the Green Party had waited too long to ask the court to add Hawkins to the ballot. The candidate called the decision "a travesty of justice."
