Officials with the School District of Melrose-Mindoro have reported that a student in the High School has tested positive for COVID-19.
Jeff Arzt, Superintendent at Melrose-Mindoro says the school district is working closely with Jackson County Public Health on contact tracing, to try and determine who might have been in contact with the student. Those people will be exempt from school for 14 days, and will be contacted by JC Public Health. The high school is closed today and tomorrow for disinfecting and cleaning. There will be no school for students 9-12th grade today, and virtual learning will be in place on Thursday for those students. Students will be informed on Thursday if in person classes will be held on Friday. Students in the K-8 will still have school, either virtually or in person.
