The WI DNR is continuing to boost fish populations through stocking and is currently fulfilling all the requirements for the 2020 stocking plan for Lake Michigan.

The plan looks to enhance partnerships with stakeholders, develop a new brook trout stocking initiative, conduct additional surveys, and enhance the collective marketing and outreach strategies. The DNR is also collecting eggs this fall to meet the 2020-2022 stocking plans for Lakes Michigan and Superior. That includes a total of 3.4 million fish eggs from 5 different species of fish from Lake Michigan, and a little over 300,000 eggs in Lake Superior from 3 different species.
