Dean F. Hanson, age 84, formerly of Taylor, died Friday, October 6, 2017 at Grand View Care Center in Blair.


He was born in the Town of Springfield on January 1, 1933, the son of the late Archie and Leva (nee Halverson) Hanson.
Dean was a loyal husband; he loved his family and had a great sense of humor. He appreciated new adventures and was always tinkering in his garage.
He is survived by his son: Rick (Emma) Hanson; daughters: Julie (Greg) Leonard and Lori Hanson; grandchildren: Laura (Jason) Arnhoelter, Matthew Peterson, Stacy Peterson, Douglas Leonard, Andrew Dean Hanson, Chris Villarreal, Jessica (Jason) Vazquez and Ricky Dean Hanson Jr.; great-grandchildren: Drew, Antony, Ashton, Geo, Julian, Jason Jr., and Chase; and a sister Donna (Don) Larson.
Dean is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Janice, brothers: Artis, Clayton and Laverne; sisters: Marie and Donna Rae; a nephew George and his aunt Rae.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the Taylor Lutheran Church with Pastor Mara Ahles-Iverson officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton on Monday, October 9 and again on Tuesday 1 hour prior at the church.
Burial with military honors will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
