Gloria D. Simonson

Gloria D. Simonson, age 82 of Blair, died peacefully at home on Thursday, October 04, 2018.

She was born on June 29, 1936 on a river boat near La Crosse to Harry and Olive Erickson.  She married Earl E. Simonson Sr. on March 11, 1961. Earl preceded her in death on December 29, 2006.

Gloria enjoyed embroidery, doing crosswords puzzles, watching Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, NCIS, cartoons, Murder she wrote and Perry Mason.  When she was healthier, she enjoyed going to family cookouts. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her 4 children: Rose Simonson of Taylor, Earl Jr. (Carol Halliday) Simonson of Hixton, Petria (Michael) Bahr of Tomah and Melfred J. Simonson of La Crosse; grandchildren: Michael (Ruth) Simonson, Matthew (Shayla) Simonson, Kayla (Kevin) Sipley, Kimberly Simonson (Tyler Uber), Steven Green, Kassandra Cox, Tyler Cox and Brittnee Cox; great-grandchildren: Adalyn Simonson and 1 on the way; ½ sister Bonnie; brother in law Daniel (Marion) Simonson of Hixton; sister in law Sharon Simonson of Hixton; and a cousin Carol Francis of Onalaska.

Gloria is preceded in death by her husband Earl Sr., parents, brother George Levock, and sisters Donna Asplund and Patty.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, 128 S. Hoffman St., Hixton with Pastor Jeff Forbes officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Burial will take place in the Woodlawn Cemetery, rural Taylor.

Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton is assisting the family with arrangements.
