Ruth Marie Harrison

Ruth Marie Harrison, 100, of Arcadia passed to her heavenly reward on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, at Gundersen Tri County Nursing Home in Whitehall, Wisconsin.

Ruth was born on October 19, 1920, in Arcadia, Wisconsin to Martin and Anna (Kupietz) Manning. Following graduation from Arcadia High School, she attended St. Vincent School of Pediatric Nursing in Chicago, IL. While employed at Lewis Memorial Hospital, she met Theodore R. Harrison, and they were married on February 14, 1942. When Ted was shipped overseas, she returned to Arcadia, where their daughter, Penny, was born. Following the war, they settled in Indianapolis, IN, later relocating to Arcadia.
Ruth was an avid reader and especially enjoyed the 22 years she was employed at the Arcadia Public Library. She loved to shop for bargains and made many trips to Eau Claire with a carload of her lady friends. She will be remembered for her Christmas gifts of homemade caramels.
She is survived by her daughters: Heidi (Carl) Kube of Florida, Tina Feuerbach of La Crosse, WI, Anne (Steve) Schmidt of Kentucky; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law: Eileen Harrison of Galesville, WI.
Proceeding Ruth in death were her husband: Ted in 1987; her daughter: Penny (Jim) Johnson; her son: Roger Harrison; and her sisters: Beatrice Florian, Winifred Servais, Roseann Sense; and her brother: Joseph Manning.
Due to the circumstances surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic, Memorial Services for Ruth and her son, Roger, will be in the Spring of 2021, at Holy Family Parish in Arcadia, with burial in Calvary Cemetery, rural Arcadia.
