(6/16/14) Margie J. Johnson, age 84, of Black River Falls, WI died Sunday, June 15, 2014 in her home.
Margie was born in Black River Falls on June 21, 1929 to Harvey B. and Clarice L. (Larson) Gilbertson.
She graduated from Black River Falls High School in 1947, and she married Norman Johnson on August 13, 1949 in the Little Norway Lutheran Church.
Margie worked at the former A & P Grocery Store, Taylor & Jones Dry Goods Store, and for the Jackson County Nurse at the Court House. She and Norm farmed on Big Field Road in the Town of Irving until officially moving to Black River Falls in 1994 where they resided in her father's home.
Her special interests and hobbies included cooking, baking, and participating in 4-H and homemakers. She loved her church Little Norway Lutheran where she was a Sunday School Teacher, a member of the ladies' organization, and the choir.
Survivors are her husband, Norm, 2-sons, Allen (Lisa) and David (Jennifer) Johnson, both of the Town of Irving, 1-sister, Alene M. (Kenneth) Larkin, Chippewa Falls, WI, 6-grandchildren, Alex, Jared, Caleb, Isaac, Arianna, and Carter, 1-brother and sister-in-law, Lawrence (JoAnne) Johnson, Hartland, WI, 2-nephews, Larry and Bruce, and 1-niece, Lori, and a special friend Joanne Capper.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Clarice, and her step-mother, Edith.
Funeral services for Margie J. Johnson will be at 11 A.M. Saturday, June 21, 2014 from the Little Norway Lutheran Church. Services will be conducted by Pastor Barb Knutson and burial will be in the church cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Torgerson's Funeral Home, (715-284-4321) 408 N. Water St. on Friday from 4 until 7 P.M. and at the church on Saturday from 10 A.M. until the time of services.
Memorials may be directed to either the Little Norway Lutheran Church, Jackson County Interfaith Caregivers, or to the organization of the donor's choice.
