As the Wisconsin Badgers prepare to play for the N-C-A-A Hockey Championship, they know they wouldn't be there without goaltender Ann-Renee Desbiens.

The record-setting senior has 17 shutouts this season and 55 for her career, more than any other woman protecting a goal. Desbiens was announced Saturday as the winner of the 2017 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award, presented each year to the best player in N-C-A-A Division I women's hockey. The best way to top off her career would be a victory in this afternoon's championship game at The Family Arena in St. Charles, Missouri. The puck drops at 2:00 p-m.
