(St. Petersburg, FL) -- His first major league start is one to remember. Brandon Woodruff pitched the first six-and-a-third innings of Milwaukee's 2-0 shutout against the Tampa Bay Rays Friday night.

Woodruff gave up seven hits, walked two and struck out six, while claiming his first major league victory. He got plenty of support from shortstop Orlando Arcia, who homered, tripled and scored both Milwaukee runs. Woodruff was supposed to start a game against the Cardinals two months ago, but missed it due to a tight hamstring. Eric Thames knocked in Arcia with a triple. Zach Davies goes for his 13th win of the season against the Rays tonight.
