(St. Petersburg, FL) -- Milwaukee pitching has recorded back to back shutouts for the first time in four years, as the Brewers blanked the Rays at Tampa Bay 3-0 Saturday night.
Zach Davies took a no hitter into the sixth inning when Lucas Duda singled with one out -- and it was the only hit Davies gave up in seven frames as he improved to 13-5. Jacob Barnes got out of a jam in the eighth and Anthony Swarzak fanned two in the ninth to get his first save since being traded from the Chicago White Sox last month as Milwaukee pitchers have now thrown 22 scoreless innings. Orlando Arcia had the game winning hit with an R-B-I double in the third, and Hernan Perez had a solo homer in the ninth as Milwaukee won its fourth game in its last five to stay within one half game of the first place Chicago Cubs in the National League Central. Travis Shaw is day to day with a bruised neck, after a ball hit him in the neck while he was trying to steal second -- and he was ruled safe but left the game in the second inning.
