Eric Thames belted a three-run, walk-off homer for the Brewers in a 5-3 win over the Colorado Rockies last (Friday) night at Miller Park.
There were two outs in the bottom of the ninth when Thames hit the game-winning shot off Rockies closer Wade Davis. Milwaukee starter Junior Guerra allowed three runs on five hits over a season-high eight innings but did not factor into the decision. Reliever Corbin Burnes pitched a scoreless ninth for the victory. Rockies starter German Marquez tossed seven innings of two-run ball and struck out nine. Christian Yelich hit a solo home run off Marquez in the sixth inning. Brewers right-hander Freddy Peralta is scheduled to start game two tonight against Colorado lefty Tyler Anderson (Saturday 6:10 P-M).
