The Milwaukee Brewers had 14 hits in a 10-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in the series opener at Miller Park.
Milwaukee ace Brandon Woodruff allowed three runs over six innings and struck ten for his eighth win of the season. Ryan Braun hit a three-run homer in the sixth inning, Eric Thames added a two-run shot in the eighth and Christian Yelich had three hits. Pirates starter Rookie Davis gave up three runs in three innings to take the loss. Zach Davies gets the start for the Crew in game two this afternoon against against Pittsburgh right-hander Jordan Lyles (Saturday 3:10 P-M). The 36-28 Brewers have one more win and one more loss than the first-place Cubs in the N-L Central.
