The Green Bay Packers will honor the late Hall of Fame quarterback Bart Starr the weekend of the home opener in September.
The team announced a number of special events and celebrations to pay tribute to the Packers legend. The players will wear Starr's number-15 on their helmets for the 2019 season. This year’s Green and Gold Gala in the Lambeau Field Atrium Friday September 13th will include a presentation from Starr’s wife, Cherry, and their son, Bart Starr, Junior with several Packers alumni also in attendance. On Saturday, the Starr family along with the Packers will host a public celebration of Starr open to fans at Rawhide in New London. A halftime ceremony during Sunday's game against the Vikings will also honor the two-time Super Bowl M-V-P and champion. Green Bay also is awarding a 250-thousand-dollar impact grant to the Bart and Cherry Starr Foundation.
