Several dates are likely circled on calendars in the Milwaukee Brewers front office.
Not much gets done openly until the 2020 World Series is over, then teams can make trades and eligible players become free agents. For five days those free agents can only negotiate with their own team. Five days later, the free agents can talk with anybody and clubs can make qualifying offers to their free agents. Players have 10 days to decide whether to accept. November 20th is the deadline for the Brewers and other teams to add players to the 40-man roster in order to protect them from the Rule 5 Draft. The date for teams to tender a 2021 contract to their unsigned players is December 2nd and the Winter Meetings will be held in Dallas the 7th through the 10th. Arbitration figures are exchanged between teams and players January 15th, with hearings beginning February 1st. Two weeks after that – Brewers pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training February 15th.
