The Milwaukee Brewers didn’t get a lot of help from their bench during the shortened 2020 season.
As they go shopping for more hitting, some players have to go. FanSided-dot-com is pointing at infielders Ryon Healy, Jace Peterson, and Eric Sogard. Healy only got seven at-bats during the regular season and couldn’t crack the lineup – even when starting first baseman Justin Smoak was hitting a buck-76. Peterson is versatile, playing a lot of positions, but he’s not a strong defender at any of them and hit only .200 this year. Sogard is a good guy, a leader, and a solid defender. If you keep one of the three, he’s the one, but the 34-year-old hit only .209. Not only do the Brewers need to find some power somewhere, they need better backups to keep qualifying for the postseason.
