The Black River Falls Public Library has revealed its 2024 Project Christmas book selection: “The Littlest Yak: Home is Where the Herd Is” by Kate Hindley. This year’s book is dedicated in memory of Janet Krohn.

In this heartwarming story, Gertie the yak learns that home is more than just belongings as she prepares to move with her herd. Amidst the excitement, she realizes that the most important thing—her baby sister Dotty—has been left behind, teaching her that home truly lies in love and connection.

Since 1998, the library has partnered with Project Christmas to provide a new book to families with children aged 3-6 in their Christmas packages. Community members can support this initiative by purchasing a copy of the book for donation at a cost of $10. Patrons can also buy a copy for their families at the same discounted price.

Starting November 4, the book will be on display at the Black River Falls Public Library, and the public is encouraged to stop by to view and purchase it.
