Wisconsin’s Wolf Hunting and Trapping Season just got underway on Monday, and all zones will be closing earlier than the season was scheduled to last. The WI DNR reports that zones 2, 5, and 6 will be closing this morning at 10:00 and Zones 1, 3, and 4 will close this afternoon at 3:00. The harvest quota for the wolf hunt was set at 200, and 50% of that has been reserved by a declaration by the Ojibwe bands. So far, the DNR reports that 82 wolves have been harvested. You can find a map showing wolf harvest numbers and the zones across Wisconsin here.
