69 School Districts Going to Referendum Tuesday

Tuesday is Election Day across Wisconsin. Voters in sixty-nine school districts statewide will see 74 referendums on the ballot. Twelve are asking to issue debt for the purposes of building or renovations. The rest are asking to exceed revenue limits to pay for operating expenses. Areas districts with referenda on Tuesdays’ ballots include Wisconsin Rapids, Sparta, Necedah, Melrose-Mindoro, Holmen, Granton, Gilmanton, Gilman, Eleva-Strum, Blair-Taylor, and Augusta. Fall Creek is asking for approval of a nearly 25-million project for construction, renovations, and infrastructure upgrades across the district, including new classrooms, a gymnasium, improved arts and auditorium space, and a secure middle school entrance. The Altoona School District is seeking $15.6 million to fund facility improvements, including maintenance, infrastructure and systems upgrades as well as updated furnishings and equipment. Polls are open Tuesday from 7am to 8pm.
