The extension of Andrews Road in Black River Falls is a state finalist for the American Council of Engineering Companies 2022 Engineering Excellence Award. Short Elliot and Hendrickson, the engineering construction company that worked on the extension submitted the project for the award. In a press release sent out by City Administrator Brad Chown, the project was looking like a pipe dream that continually was delayed, but SEH was able to come up with a plan of how to pay for the project by making it a Tax Increment Financing District, a flexible construction schedule to complete the project over a full year, and minimized environmental impacts. Andrews Road connects Highway 12 to Highway 54 in Black River Falls. The ACEC 2022 Engineering Excellence Award will be presented on April 22nd in Kohler.
