Applications Available for the Wisconsin Agriculture Youth Council

Applications are now open for the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection’s Wisconsin Agriculture Youth Council. Current high school juniors have until March 31, 2026, to apply.

DATCP Secretary Randy Romanski says the council offers a unique opportunity for students interested in agriculture to expand their knowledge and build connections across the state.

The year-long program highlights agricultural careers, provides insight into policy development, shares farmer resources, and creates networking opportunities. Council members meet virtually each month during the school year to hear from industry professionals and engage in discussions.

Current members say the experience has strengthened their leadership skills, public speaking abilities, and understanding of Wisconsin agriculture.

DATCP aims to select 15 students, including at least one representative from each of the state’s nine agricultural districts. Students who will be seniors during the 2026–2027 school year are encouraged to apply. Participants receive a certificate upon completing their term.

Applications, including an essay and one-minute video, are available online at AgYouthCouncil.wi.gov.
