Authorities Searching for Suspect in High Speed Motorcycle Chase

Authorities are searching for a suspect following a high-speed motorcycle chase that began in Osseo and ended in Fairchild.

According to the Osseo Police Department, an officer on patrol near Harmony and 10th Streets observed a motorcycle traveling east on 10th Street at what was described as an extremely high rate of speed. When the officer attempted a traffic stop, the motorcycle fled, leading officers on a pursuit eastbound on Highway 10 at speeds reaching approximately 130 miles per hour.

The chase ended at the Cenex station in Fairchild, where the driver abandoned the motorcycle and ran into a nearby wooded area. Osseo Police deployed a K9 unit, which tracked the suspect, but officers were unable to locate him.

Police have identified the suspect as 33-year-old Kyle R. Appel of Wheeler. Authorities say Appel now has outstanding warrants through Trempealeau County, and the Osseo Police Department is asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact law enforcement.

Assisting agencies included the Trempealeau, Eau Claire, and Jackson County Sheriff’s Offices, along with the Wisconsin State Patrol.

The incident is no longer considered under investigation.
