B-T Bell Choir performs at Taylor Lutheran

About 25 Bell Choir students from the Blair-Taylor (B-T) School District shared eight
selections during a concert at the Taylor Lutheran Church early in December. The choir,
comprised of middle and high school students, was under the leadership of Karla Hulne,
the B-T director of Instrumental Music.
After the program, the students as well as community members were invited to lunch
with all freewill donations ($363) being given to the Bell Choir. Hulne shared that the B-T
handbell choirs have raised and donated $15,000 back to our local communities,
including the Jackson County and Trempealeau County animal shelters, New Horizons
Shelter as well as the purchase of the first suicide prevention curriculum, just to name a
few. Hulne added, “The senior bell ringers always choose the organization, which this
year is Project Christmas at B-T. The project coordinates Christmas gifts and
necessities to students in need within the district.”
The concert at the Taylor Lutheran Church was sponsored by the Jackson County
Retired Educators (JCRE) organization. Former B-T educators/JCRE members Brenda
Olson and Linda Nehring coordinated the event. Officers of the organization are Elaine
Musser, president; Brenda Olson, secretary; and Clarice Franke, Treasurer.
