Bail has been set at one-and-a-half-million dollars for Fox River Mall homicide suspect Dezman Ellis. He’s accused of shooting 19-year-old Jovannie Frausto to death and wounding another person January 31st at the mall in Grand Chute. Authorities say Ellis’ girlfriend, his brother and his brother’s girlfriend helped the fugitive hide out in a Platteville motel before U-S Marshals finally took him into custody in Des Moines, Iowa last Thursday. The bail was set during an Outagamie County Circuit Court hearing Monday. Witnesses say Ellis and the victim argued over a girl. It’s possible another relative picked him up at the Platteville motel and took him to Iowa. Ellis is charged with first-degree intentional homicide and first-degree recklessly endangering safety. Federal charges were dismissed.
