The City of Black River Falls has named the person that will take over as Parks & Recreation Director. Chad Duerkop has been hired to fill the vacancy of Steve Peterson, who is retiring. Duerkop has been employed with the Eau Claire Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department since 2005 as Program and Facility Supervisor. In total he has 22 years of Parks & Recreation experience, previously holding other jobs in Bloomington, Minnesota and Waukon, Iowa. The City says it received 52 applications for the position, and eight people were interviewed for the spot. Duerkop is expected to start his tenure on April 19th.
