The Black River Falls Common Council met Wednesday night for their monthly meeting. City Administrator Brad Chown shared election results, reporting that 657 votes were cast in Tuesday’s election, which is 32% of registered voters, and 23% of eligible voters in the city. Black River Falls Downtown Association President Tom Cooper was in attendance, and presented a proposal to open up the streets in the business district to ATV/UTV traffic, citing. Alderperson Ammann spoke in favor of the proposal, and said the Council should consider opening all streets in the city to ATV/UTV traffic. After much discussion between citizens and alderpersons speaking for and against the proposal, Mayor Eddy requested the topic be put on the next Common Council meeting agenda, so that a proper ordinance could be drafted, and to not expand past the business district, as that would require additional public hearings.
