The Black River Falls Common Council met in a special session on Wednesday night (Jan. 20). Among items on the meeting minutes was the discussion of the offer from S.C. Swiderski LLC to purchase five residential building lots in Lallapolooza Estates. After discussion a motion passed to accept the counter-offer that was presented to City. An update was given from Parks and Recreation Director Steve Peterson that the Milt Lunda Memorial Ice Arena is now hosting high school hockey games, and that they’ve had good compliance with mask wearing during the games. It was also announced that Peterson has been awarded the George Wilson Service Award from the WI Parks & Recreation Association. Peterson will officially be presented the award on February 11th. It was also mentioned in the meeting minutes that Peterson will be retiring effective June 1st of this year, after serving 35 years with the Parks & Recreation Department.
