A Cashton man was arrested last Wednesday after a single-vehicle rollover accident that caused severe injuries to his passenger. Monroe County Dispatch received a call around 2:00 in the morning on Wednesday of a woman dropped off in the emergency room with serious injuries after the accident near Norwalk. A concerned citizen shared information with the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, and a driver was identified as 19-year-old Preston Shreier of Cashton. Shreier admitted to consuming alcohol prior to the accident at a bar, and after the crash instead of calling 911, called a friend to help get his passenger to the hospital. Shreier received minor injuries in the crash. The location of the accident was later discovered on Kelton Road in the Township of Ridgeville, with the vehicle approximately 100 yards from the roadway in the middle of a field. Shreier was charged with reckless driving causing great bodily harm and misdemeanor bail jumping. The bar Shreier had been drinking at was also issued citations for Schreier being served.
