La Crosse police accuse 25-year-old Joseph Grzegorek of chasing a woman Monday afternoon, grabbing her from behind, pulling her to the ground, then dragging her toward the river. The incident happened at about 2:30 p-m on the Gundersen Health Walking Trail in La Crosse. W-E-A-U / T-V reports the woman was able to get away and yell for help. Grezegorek is charged with kidnapping and attempted second-degree sexual assault. Police say he told them he was trying to run up the hill when he and the victim got “tangled up a little bit.” He is scheduled to return to court next Wednesday.
