The Clark County Friends of the Black River Gathered on Saturday (April 17) to do their 3rd annual cleanup of the Black River among other creeks and shorelines in the area. They report that 38 volunteers helped on the day of the event, and gathered more than 50 tires, several TVs, a mattress, a trailer full of metal, about 50 cubic yards of trash and a refrigerator. The Clark County Chapter of Friends of the Black River have also been working on improving the county’s landing sites. When founded in 2018, there were two landing zones, and that has now expanded to include 27 different locations.
