If you’ve ever wanted to help the DNR collect information on Karner Blue Butterflies, now is the time to sign up and be a volunteer. The DNR is seeking volunteers to help gather information about the butterflies and their habitat to help advance recovery efforts, as the Karner Blue Butterfly was put on the federally endangered species list in 1992. Wisconsin is one of the last remaining strongholds for the butterfly. There’s a brief training course and a few short videos to watch if you’re interested in volunteering. A link for the training and other resources on Karner Blue Butterflies can be found here.
