Doris Jane (Eide) Holder was born May 9, 1926 at Hixton, Wisconsin, Town of Curran to Sever and Lily (Olstad) Eide. Doris died January 16, 2022 in her home. She was baptized and confirmed at Upper Pigeon Creek Lutheran Church, Hixton , Wisconsin. She attended Burton Elementary School and graduated from Hixton High School. She was employed by Jackson County Ration Board, General Telephone Company and Jackson County Agriculture Department and at the University of Wisconsin Agriculture Department at Madison, Wisconsin. She worked at the school district of Black River Falls from 1960 until retirement in 1989. She was married to Donn W Holder in 1948; they were later divorced. Doris was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Black River Falls. She loved to cook, bake, crochet, quilt and do crossword puzzles. She loved to welcome visitors to her home where she offered her Norwegian brand of hospitality that always included desserts. She is survived by three daughters: Kay (Stephen) Dorrance, Donna (Philip) Waldhart, Debra (Larry) Sexe. Five grandchildren Elizabeth and Kari Sexe, Paul Waldhart and Dawn (Carter)Folkestad, Nathan Dorrance and great-grand children Ciara and Charlie Folkestad. A special cousin, Carol Eide along with nieces, nephews and other relatives. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Sever and Lily Eide, brothers Sherman (Myrtle) Eide, Ardell (Elsie) Eide, Ole and Lars Eide; sisters Bernice (Everett) Schoen, Lorraine C. Eide, Avis Eide, Lorraine A. Eide. A Celebration of Life for Doris will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Torgerson Funeral Home at 11:00 am with visitation an hour before the service; Internment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
The Torgerson’s Funeral Home has been entrusted with the final arrangements.
