The lone driver of a motorcycle is dead after a crash on Highway 16 in Monroe County on Saturday evening. In a press release, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department reports that the crash happened near Hazel Avenue. Upon arriving on scene, it was discovered that the driver 29-year-old William Nelson of Tomah was ejected from the motorcycle after it overturned in the north-side ditch. Nelson was pronounced dead at the scene. Highway 16 was closed for about 1.5 hours while an investigation took place, and the investigation is ongoing by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
