Duane H. (Freddy) Fredrick, age 90 of Osseo, WI, passed away on Thursday June 25, 2026.
Freddy was born on October 28, 1935 in Owen, WI to Herbert D. Fredrick and Margaret R.
(Buchholz) Fredrick. Freddy married Janice Marie Morris on June 26, 1960 in Black River Falls,
WI.
Freddy enlisted in the Army and served 2 years in Europe. He received his Bachelor of Science
degree in Education from UW Eau Claire and his Masters Degree in School Counseling from UW
Stout, Menomonie. Freddy taught school and was a Guidance Counselor at Osseo-Fairchild
High School for 29 years, where he also enjoyed announcing the football and basketball games.
After retirement Freddy became the Mayor of Osseo, was on the Osseo City Council, the
Trempealeau County Tourism Board, Retired Teachers Association, Osseo Library Board and
was active in the Lions Club. He umpired softball games in the City Park and loved delivering
Flowers for Colbys Flower Shop.
Freddy’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, St Louis Cardinal Baseball and handyman projects.
He took many fun road trips with Harold Mulhern and loved talking baseball with Jon Soiney.
Freddy is survived by his daughters, Jane (Daniel) Thompson and Mary (Ralph) Leirmo. Three
grandchildren, Joshua (Laura) Fischer, Nathan Leirmo and Nicole (Clete) Normand and 6 great
Grandchildren.
Freddy was preceded in death by his wife Janice, Parents, brother Daniel (Shirley) Fredrick and
sister Eva (Donald) Leseth.
Service will be held at the Osseo United Church of Christ, Osseo WI at 11:30 on Thursday, July 9
with visitation from 10:00 to 11:30 prior to the Service.
